Our big five year anniversary is so soon! Chad and I wanted to go somewhere exotic like Costa Rica but had to use our vacation funds for some unfortunate automobile maintenance. So instead we are going to the Sierra Nevada's. Just incase we do not return due to losing a bear fight, these are our plans. First we are backpacking two days on the John Muir trail through the Ansel Adams Wilderness. We are hiking to Thousand Island Lakes and Banner Peak. This was where Ansel took a lot of his popular photographs including the one above. After we return to Mammoth Lakes, we will stop to do a short hike to see Devils Postpile and Rainbow Falls. The following day we are meeting the Schmidt's in Yosemite to camp with them, where we will be gathering all of our strength to do the famous Half Dome hike. This is a picture that I took of the hike when we were there last summer. Yes, we will be on top of that very high looking half dome thing-
(Last time Chad was here he crept to the very edge and looked down off the face of Half Dome-I don't think I will be doing this.)

YAY! HAlf dome!!!! I did that hike 3 years ago!!! It was a lot of fun. I was NOT in shape, but STILL did it. I only lost one toenail=) But it is BEAUTIFUL! I am super excited for you!
You guys are awesome!! Have a wonderful trip. Hmmm.... I think for our 5 year we maybe saw a movie. Can't really remember. Keep doing memorable things for your anniversaries!
