finally!

So we have been working on our upstairs for what seems forever, and we finally got the carpet installed which means just a few touch-ups and we are done! I think the upstairs might be my favorite part of the house now. Everyone thought I was crazy when I told them that I wanted navy carpet, but I love it! I think one of the hardest things to do is to imagine something from a tiny sample, such as carpet, paint, or countertops. The pictures don't do it justice.
Lets get some before pictures now.

Lovely, right? Now you know why our parents were nervous when we bought this house:)
Isn't this linoleum awesome.

Notice that there is no window here? Well you had to be less than five feet to walk up this staircase because the ceiling was so low. So to make it taller we added this (now is when the hgtv music comes on):

dormer window. Love right!

Here is a preview of Saylor's new room.

love.
So to list everything we had to do: tear off the old sheetrock, add dormer window (we paid someone to do that because there were two roofs to cut through), new insulation, add lights in staircase, new sheetrock, new windows, new trim, new stair railing, prime sheetrock, paint walls, paint trim, and then the new carpet!
Will keep you updated on what we do next!
